Covid – 19 Info

How Rotorua Canopy Tours is keeping you safe

Covid-19

How we are keeping you safe

We are still delivering the same unforgettable world class experiences but we have made a few changes to keep you safe and deliver our tours within the Governments Alert Level 2 Covid regulations.

Here is what we are doing:

  • We have made our tours even smaller and more personal with 6 people max per tour to give you more space in the vans and on the platforms.
  • Tour times have been spread out to reduce the number of people our guides and customer will come into contact with at the base area.
  • All facilities, safety gear, warm clothing and vehicles will be sanitised between every tour.

Please stay home if you are feeling sick. We will reschedule or refund your tour, no questions.

More Covid – 19 FAQs

Are the experiences going to be different?

We will still be delivering the same high-quality experiences.  We have just made a few changes to keep our staff and customers safe during Alert level 2.  Read through our FAQ’s below to see what we have

How many people on each tour? Can we social distance?

During Alert level 2 we have reduced the number of people on each tour to 6 (usually 10) plus two guides. This allows you to have more room on the platforms, in the vans and in the check in area. It also means your tour will be even more personalized and intimate than ever before, so don’t miss this opportunity!

Will harnesses, helmets and other equipment be cleaned after each person?

YES! Our facilities, all equipment and warm weather gear and vehicles will be cleaned and sanitized between every tour.

Will you limit the number of people in your base at check in?

Tour times are offset and the reduced number of people on tours means more space at our base building and less contact with other customers.

Are you still offering pick up and drop off service?

Our regular pick up service is not available during Alert Level 2. But we have plenty of free parking on site for you.

How can we pay for our tour?

We have contactless payment options for you. You will be able to pay for your tour when making your booking online or over the phone.

Eftpos and cash payments will also be available at check in if required.

How are you contact tracing?

We will be adding a few extra questions to our usual check in process. This will be completed on arrival and only required information will be shared if requested to contact trace.

Will we all be transported in one van? Will I have to sit near a stranger and how often are the vans cleaned?

We have adjusted our groups sizes and the seating plan in the vans to allow for people to sit separately in the vans. Each small group and the guides will be transported to the forest in one of our 12-seater vans, but you will not have to sit next to a stranger in the van ride.

Our vans will be sterilized between each tour.

The ride to the forest is approx. 10 minutes, if you are not comfortable with this there are options to take your own vehicle to the forest, please talk to the team when making your booking.

Do we need to wear facemasks and gloves? Will our guides be wearing facemasks?

Guides will wear face masks and eyeglasses at various parts of the tour to keep you, and themselves safe.

We also have facemasks available for you to if you would like them.

You will need to wear gloves while you are on tour, you can wear ours if you do not have your own.

Will you have hand sanitizer available?

Yes, we will have hand sanitizer for you to use at our base, in the vans and on tour.

Will you provide snacks and water while on tour?

We will not provide any snacks or water on the experience.  But you are welcome to bring water in a small plastic bottle.

Do I need to bring my own jacket? Will you have wet weather gear available to use?

We have amazing wet weather and warmth gear for you to use if you would like to.  It will be washed, disinfected, and dried between uses. But we do encourage you to wear warm layers and a jacket if you have one, it gets cold in the forest during winter.

Still feeling nervous about sharing this experience with people you do not know?
